Mary Beth Chambers

Head Coach
Mary Beth Bowler-Chambers, player turned coach, played on the 1979 State Championship team at St Rose High School. She then went on to King’s College and from 1980-1983, she dominated the Middle Atlantic Conference.  Mary Beth is regarded as King's College best player of all time.
 
Bowler-Chambers, who played with her twin sister Teresa Bowler at King's, is the Lady Monarchs' all-time leading scorer with 2,024 points.  In 1981-82, she led NCAA Division III in scoring with a 25.9 points per-game average and also holds King's record for points scored in a single-game with 44 against Lycoming on February 25, 1980.  In all, she owns 17 Lady Monarch records.
 
Bowler-Chambers was also King's first All-American player, earning the honor twice in 1980-81 and 1981-82.  She was a four-time MAC All-Star and was twice named the MAC's Most Valuable Player....scroll down to read Coach Marybeth's full bio!

Since 1999, King’s College has presented the “Mary Beth Bowler” Award. This annual award honors an outstanding senior player at King’s based on their contributions to the program, on and off the court, over a four-year varsity career.

Bowler-Chambers went on to coach at many different levels including 10 seasons as the head coach at Marlboro High School and almost 20 years on the AAU level where she has coached some of the best talent in the Shore (see below).

Bowler-Chambers has coached with the NJ Shoreshots organization for 6+ years. She has been an instrumental part in sending many scholar athletes to further their dream in college.

Since she returned to coach her alma mater in 2018, she has led the St. Rose girls’ basketball team to tremendous success with a record of 97-32 and the 2018 NJSIAA Non-Public A State Championship.

MaryBeth and her daughter Kasey Chambers (St. Rose Class ‘12) are one of only 2 mothers and daughters to win State Championships at St. Rose High School. In addition to Kasey, Mary Beth has 2 boys, Brian and Dennis.
